About

Healing through creativity, compassion, and authenticity.

Heartworks is the collaborative team of counselors and healers Laura Gerstle, Elizabeth “Betsy” Morand, and Cally Tilly. They are driven by a vision to create space to heal hearts, minds, and souls through creativity, compassion, and authenticity. Laura Gerstle is a Licensed Professional Counselor who helps both adults and adolescents break down the barriers that prevent them from fully embracing life. Laura’s approach to therapy is rooted in Affect Script Psychology and a basis of genuine connection with each of her clients, tailoring therapy to each individual’s needs and aiding clients in identifying and transforming the deeply ingrained images and emotional patterns that contribute to their specific challenges. Laura has supported people of all ages and backgrounds, dealing with a wide range of psychological issues, including anxiety, depression, grief, and trauma. Her various roles before becoming a counselor include being a Research Technician, Clinical Trials Coordinator, Rape Crisis Companion, and mother of four; these roles have shaped her understanding of the human experience and enhanced her ability to connect with others. Elizabeth “Betsy” Morand is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Art Therapist. Betsy works with children (ages 8 and up) and adults using a person-centered approach. Betsy helps her clients find creative expression through art where words fail to tell the story. She has worked with clients in a variety of clinical settings, including those in the foster care system and state-run residential treatment centers. She has experience with veterans, children with special needs, and those with Autism Spectrum Disorder. She recognizes that healing and wellbeing include the emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual aspects of a person and offers faith-based counseling when desired. Betsy’s 17 years of experience as an art teacher and dyslexia interventionist have greatly contributed to her effectiveness as an art therapist. Cally Tilly is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Board-Certified Art Therapist. She works with children, adolescents, and adults using a person-centered and strength-based approach. Cally uses direct and free art experiences to help clients explore and process their thoughts, feelings, and the challenges they face. By working collaboratively and establishing a trusting and supportive relationship, she helps her clients identify their personal goals and walks with them along a unique path of self-discovery and healing. Cally brings with her 19 years of experience as a public-school art teacher and years of counseling experience working with clients with a wide variety of diagnoses and mental health needs.
